Hvozd - Merboltice 95
Ústecký
Hvozd is located in Merboltice (architectonically protected village) in České Středohoří mountains area. Household is traditional, under permanent reconstruction, big enough for our family and rooms for volunteers. Around us we have 0,5 ha of orchards, gardens, and wild corners, forest and a water spring, good neighbours, nice village. We have set up an official NGO "Spolek Hvozd" to bring our visions together and make it real together with other great people. All we do here is based on permaculture principles. If you come to support us by your help, you might expect sorts of activity as ... chopping wood, maintenance of house, organizing space, tools, cleaning, fixing the fence, gardening: mostly weeding, care for orchard, scything, striming, herb collection, helping with crafting of didgeridoos, various wood work, carpentry projects, clay plasters, etc. You will come to environment of family with two kids. We are easy going and open... but only up to the point you respect our values and peace :-) We will gladly share our house and kitchen where you will get mostly organic vegetarian food. We are looking forward to host you here and together open and enjoy the great potencial of this beautiful place.
Obhospodařujeme 0,5 ha sadu, zahrad a koutů divočiny a blízkou studánku v lese, dobré sousedy, krásnou dlouhou vesničku... Spolu s dalšími členy mimo farmu jsme založili oficiální Spolek Hvozd, abychom spolu s dalšími skvělými lidmi dokázali zrealizovat naše vize a představy o trvale udržitelném hospodářství a společnosti. Veškeré naše aktivity jsou prodchnuty principy permakultury. Pokud se rozhodnete k nám přijet a podpořit nás, můžete očekávat druhy práce jako... štípání dříví, oprava, údržba, vyklízení a uspořádání prostor, zahradničení, údržba sadu, sekání, hrabání, vození, sběr bylin, kosení, pomoc při výrobě didgeridoo, menší truhlářsko-tesařské projekty, hliněné omítky.....atd. Přijdete do rodinného prostředí. Jsme otevření všemu... ale jen do té doby kdy respektujete naše hodnoty a náš osobní prostor. Rádi s vámi budeme sdílet náš dům a kuchyň, kde většinou dostanete lokální vegetariánskou stravu v bio-kvalitě.

Krásná dřevodílna plná nástrojů jenž vybízí ke kreativitě a celkově ta atmosféra v domě, ten příjemný pocit. Jsou to skvělí lidé, které opravdu stojí zato poznat.
Děkuji moc za čas který jsem s vámi strávil.

Great wwoofing experience in Merboltice, come and see!
Lukáš, Eva, Katka and young Vilém are very friendly, I really felt like home. You can work here in the best conditions, learning and sharing (music, cooking, culture). I enjoyed doing permaculture (and eating the best tomatoes ever), helping with the creation of didgeridoos, and discovering an interesting historical village. Lots of projects here, like creating a fence or building a solar panel, you really feel useful and welcome!
Thank you again, I hope I can come back one day!

Hi there! This is a call to everyone´s inner voice which is secretly dreaming about planting trees and bush, working with wood (making furniture, didgeridoo processing, chopping wood), tasting home-made bread, tempeh, local vegetables and fruits, bio-food and milion types of tea, swinging in a hammock with freshly milled coffee or endlessly laughing little Vilém, listening to the morning flutes while scything and the evening clarinet during dinner, having hands dirty of fragrant clay, meeting new people with their different life style, discovering new places and experiencing permaculture principles in practice.
Don´t hesitate! Adventure is waiting!
Thank you, Merboltic guys :)

I spent 10 days at Spolek Hvodz with 3 friends of mine and met new great friends as Parisa, Karl, Tomas, Lukàs, Katka, Peter and many more from the local village.
We helped Katka, Lukàs, Eva (and their little baby Vilém) in cutting grass, cleaning the garden, collecting flowers, seeds, herbs and vegetables, chopping and collecting wood for winter, wood carpentery. We also learned from them how to self-produce tools, furniture, food, and artistic objects. We did together Yoga, pottery-making and carpentery workshop: now the garden has a new self-made wood bench :)
They introduce ourselves the Merboltice community: a small village in the north of Czech Republic where people work to keep it alive organizing festivals, markets, sharing food and self-produced objects, as a sort of an "alternative" microcultural world. It was really interesting.
We also had time to free visit the closer city of Decìn and make a trip by the Labe (Elbe) river. Prague is well connected by train and you can easily reach the village.
I recommend this place to all the curious people who are looking for a familiar place to stay and experiment new ways of live.
Thank you for have hosted us!

I had a wonderful experience at Merboltice of 10 days in the summer of 2016.
Lukas, Eva and close friend Katka made a good introduction to the farm. We had good talks, games, tea breaks, experiences and they made me feel very welcome at their farm. It is located in a beautiful village opposite to the "Snake Mountain" where lightning always strikes. The area is also good for some hill/mountain hiking.
While I was there I did wood chopping, harvesting apples, gathering wood, making raw boards from the trees and more. I also learned a lot about permaculture.
We made good natural food, some of it was from the garden.
I strongly recommend Hvozd and hope to come back.
-A.

I spend 8 days in Hvozd late July.
I came for wwoofing but met friends! Atmosphere is great and the project nice.
The farm is located in a beautiful village full of initiatives. The area is perfect for sunset walks or bike rides.
I took part in renovating the house with ecological materials and of course in traditional farm works such as chopping wood, picking fruits, harvesting.
Food is great, natural and tasty.
I will definitely come back!
