Dear WWOOFERS! We cultivate organic vegetables and preserve many of our own seeds. We process and can vegetables and fruits, bake sourdough bread, milk cows and make cheese, press apple juice, and sell our products at farmers’ markets. We cultivate 5 ha of new and old high stem orchards, 10 ha of meadows and pastures, 15 ha of tillable fields, 2 ponds, and a natural leaf forest. We keep a large genetic resource of heirloom and resistant fruit varieties. A 18-year-old fruit forest gives us lots of not so common vitamin berries and healing herbs. At the end of the summer, our experimental vineyard (490 meters above sea level!) yields over 30 kinds of juice and table grapes. We also raise cows. The reason we are together -however- is not to lead an alternative, self-sufficient life in the country, but to simply be the way our God intended people to be. That is caring for and loving one another. We work hard on the farm and on building projects, but mostly we want to build up one another. That's our greatest project. We work hard to maintain our unity and to not let anything divide us. To manage this we live open, honest lives to ensure there is peace. We are a community in the true sense of the word, eight families and single people who live together in common unity. We are people from all walks of life who have left everything else behind to follow the Messiah, being brought together in a common faith. Patterned after the life of the first believers in Acts 2, we are a commonwealth, sharing our money and resources, our work, our meal times and our common culture, as well as a common salvation. We gather each morning and evening to give thanks and praise to our Creator for giving us this life. Then during the day we work together, building truly sustainable relationships with one another, as we obey the gospel of the kingdom, laying down our lives each day for those around us, bringing our children alongside of us in our faith. The Preserved Seed Farm is a community in an international network of communities known as the Twelve Tribes. We are a spiritual nation made up of families and single people who have come together from all walks of life and many nationalities. Our common vision is a simple life of devotion to our Creator, based on a true faith that is expressed as a genuine love for our friends, husband, wife, children, and anyone else we come across. All we want to do is love, and slowly, but surely, we are learning the depth of what that actually means. You are welcome to come for a day or longer. Bring yourself, bring a friend, or bring your family. We look forward to seeing you. We are accepting helpers and other volunteers where guests can stay for a time, helping out on the farm in exchange for room and board. So far we’ve had helpers from France, Italy, England, Portugal, China, Taiwan, and the USA. We simply expect helpers to work with us throughout the day, and to participate in our social times of gathering and eating, etc. Please call or write with any further questions… Thanks. We spent about a week with our three kids in the community at Preserved Seed Farm, and it was a very special experience. The community was in the middle of a big construction push to finish an extension to the main house, which kept them busy from early morning until late at night, yet they welcomed us warmly. They immediately helped us settle in, found a place for our RV, and encouraged us to join at our own rhythm. Our days were a mix of homeschooling with the kids and lending a hand where we could, without any pressure to work, even during such a busy period. We had the chance to explore different areas that interested us—gardening, kitchen work, and even milking animals. Sometimes we worked as a group, other times individually, which gave everyone the opportunity to learn and contribute in their own way. We also appreciated the openness of the community. Discussions around religion happened naturally and candidly, without any pressure, and we never felt confronted with gender-role expectations that others have mentioned in reviews. In fact, they were pleasantly surprised that my wife was a gardener, and she quickly became more involved and took on responsibilities in the gardens as the week went on. Overall, we definitely recommend visiting the farm, meeting the community, and spending time with them. All of us enjoyed the experience, and we even reconnected with some members afterward at their store and at the market.

Nick and I had a great stay! Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Highly recommend. Their religious practices were not something we were used to but didn’t feel pressured and felt respected. Mate tea is awesome :))

I came to the farm with my son (9 y) and my daughter (7 y). My children helped milking goats and sheep, they helped in the kitchen with meal preparation and cleaning dishes, they helped processing food for preservation, and my son helped harvesting melons. I had rarely before seen them so engaged and focused. I felt deeply touched by that. They were taken under their wings by members of the community and thoroughly enjoyed that time. I believe they experienced what it can be like to be a valued member of a loving community and to do meaningful work that genuinely contributes to something larger than themselves. My children also really enjoyed listening and watching the daily singing, dancing and playing of music. My daughter was invited to dance and loved being a part of that. As for my own experience, I felt deeply touched by the openness with which the people of the community opened their lives to us. I experienced a depth and consistency of hospitality, selflessness and spiritual connection as I had not ever experienced before. I felt humbled to witness the profound integrity of the people’s lives. I loved being part of the twice daily gatherings. I loved the powerful energy of the music and singing and dance, and I loved listening to the community’s sharing of readings, thoughts, open questions & inquiries, expressions of gratitude, and prayers. I thank the community deeply for allowing us to be part of their lives, and I look forward to another time.

The community here made me feel very welcome during my three day stay at their farm! They really went out of their way to include me, to show me different aspects of their farm and to introduce me to their way of life. The farm is very diverse and it is impressive to see how much good food they can produce. There are a two things about the communal life that I think would be good to point out for future Wwoofers. First of all, the tribe beliefs that the natural order of things is that women are subservient to men. Feminism is not appreciated in the tribe and there is a distinction between men's work and women's work, the latter being mostly to take care of children, to clean and to do the cooking. Secondly, you will have very little time for yourself. The working day in itself is not extremely long, but you will also spend some hours every day in gatherings, mealtime and cleaning, leaving you with just about enough time to sleep.

I spend an interesting week with this community at the beginning of January. They live an absolutly different life then we have. I had some doubt before I visited them, but they are really welcoming and kind from the first minute. Usually I helped around the flows, in a kitchen, and every day we went to milking to the farm. But I suppose, the work is change in the other seasons. We worked almost all day, but if I needed rest, I could sleep and relax a little bit. They kindly answered all my questions, everyone had a nice word for me. They try live according to the Bible. They are really peaceful people, I never heard shouting or dispute whereas almost 40 people live together. Amazing.. The accomodation was good, I shared a room with other two lady. They ate meat, but only cuple of time so they made the meal from vegetables in general. I apsolutly recommend this place! But before you visit them, you should read about their website. Thank you!

I stayed at the farm for almost a week. It was a really interesting and pleasurable experience that I probably wouldn't have made otherwise. Their "vivid" belief, the strong relationships and the sense of belonging were just some of the memories that will stay with me. By the way, the food was gorgeous as well. I want to note that they are not a "normal" farm. They are a religious community and they really live their religion. That's not a bad thing and they don't force their beliefs on you but I think it's better to know that in advance. I had a great time staying there and would absolutely recommend it :)
