Pod Dračím kamenem
Liberecký
Small family homestead located in the Jizera Mountains (Jizerské hory) Protected Landscape Area, near the cities of Frydlant and Liberec just a bit more than one hour from Prague. We focus on environment friendly farming, sustainable living. We aim for at least partial self-sufficiency. We are interested in traditional craftsmanship, permaculture, cheese making, tanning skinns and green building. We grow vegetables, keep sheep, goats, ponies, pigs, rabbits, chickens and bees, and take care of 7ha of land (pastures, orchard, garden, forest). WWOOFers could help with planting trees, building fences, shelters, with animals, garden, field, forest, housekeeping, household, cooking and many other activities ... but we understand the WWOOF project as well as an opportunity to meet interesting people, have fun and exchange experiences.
Organic methods: We use only on farm inputs or certified organic on the farm.
Certifications: We are working only with natural product sin closed cycle, but for our homestead it makes no sense to be certified organic
Type of work: We are trying to make our homestead look nicer in this year.

The best way to our farm is to get to city of Liberec and then by train to Raspenava.

The family is very friendly and welcoming, they explained everything to me (how to do my tasks) and gave me plenty of time to finish them. There's always something to do at the farm, I mostly helped with collecting vegetables, seeds and other greens, while also helping with maintaining of their huge property. It was a great experience :)

We spent three weeks at Hynek and Alena's farm, and it was an incredibly enriching experience! We took part in various activities while learning more about an autonomous way of life. All of this took place in a peaceful, natural setting, surrounded by fields and forests.

Dobře organizovaná farma, přijdete do kontaktu s vícero druhy zvířat, moc příjemné rodinné prostředí. Krásné Jizerské hory na dosah.

My time with Alena and Hynek was really great. Everyday life was very regular and it was really nice to be together with the other Wwoofers and the Family. I would recommend everyone to make a stopover in Raspenava.

I highly recommend visiting this amazing farm. Hynek and Elena are really nice hosts with amazing knowledge. I really enjoyed my time there working with Hynek around the farm and with animals. Also it was really nice to have really interesting conversations with both Elena and Hynek during diner or while working. On my free day i went hiking to the mountains near by (i highly recommend visiting them).

While I was at the farm I performed quite a Variety of tasks: construction work on a barn, gardening, fence installment, feeding the animals, plowing with a horse, collecting honey
The accommodation was in a wooden caravan with a nice view of the nearby mountains. On a weekend I made a trip to the nearby mountains equipped with a map and and tips Hynek provided.
In the morning I worked around 4,5 - 5 hours until the shared lunch. The afternoons were free time. Feeding
An outdoor kitchen was at my disposal and plenty of food for breakfast and dinner.
Hynek and Alena were very friendly at all times and eager to exchange knowledge.
I would recommend a visit
