We are a small non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Moravský Krumlov, Czech Republic. In the town centre, we take care of a small piece of land where we run a community garden and organize different community activities for children, families, volunteers, and local residents. Our project is focused on connecting people, nature, and community life. We are gradually transforming this space into a welcoming community garden where people can meet, learn, help, and enjoy being outdoors together. During this summer, we will be adding simple play elements for children and creating a rain garden to support biodiversity and better water retention. This is not a private family home, but a community space managed by our non-profit team and local volunteers. People involved in the project include our staff members, volunteers, and community participants. We also have some animals in the garden area: 3 Cameroon sheep and 7 rabbits. This year we are also preparing a chicken coop, so the space is slowly becoming even more lively and educational for children and visitors. Our typical activities are connected with caring for a small community garden and its surroundings. Daily tasks may include feeding and caring for the animals, mowing grass, weeding flower and vegetable beds, watering plants, and helping to keep the garden tidy and pleasant for visitors. This summer, an important part of our work will also be creating a new rain garden. WWOOFers can learn how to help prepare the area, work with soil and plants, and understand the basic idea of a rain garden as a natural way to retain water and support biodiversity. A typical day could start with simple animal care and checking the garden. Later in the morning, we might work on weeding, mowing, planting, or preparing new parts of the garden. There would be time for breaks, lunch, and informal conversation. Some days may also include helping with small community activities or outdoor improvements for children and families. We would like WWOOFers to learn practical gardening skills, basic animal care, teamwork, and how a small community-based environmental project works in everyday life. WWOOFers will be accommodated in a student dormitory in Moravský Krumlov, only a short distance from our community project. The accommodation is simple but comfortable and suitable for a short-term stay during the summer. Meals will be provided three times a day. We will organize breakfast, lunch, and dinner in our clubhouse, which is located very close to the accommodation. This space also serves as a meeting point for our activities and for spending time together. We will make sure that WWOOFers have regular meals, drinking water, and the basic comfort needed for their stay. We want them to feel welcome, safe, and well cared for while taking part in our community garden project. Kolping Family Moravský Krumlov is a lively community. We organize summer residential camps for children, youth activities, community events, and different gatherings during the year. We enjoy spending time together, sharing meals, talking, and creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We will be happy to welcome WWOOFers into our community life, not only as helpers in the garden but also as guests with whom we can share everyday experiences. We are looking forward to spending time together, learning from each other, and showing them our region. In the surrounding area, there are good opportunities for walks, trips, and discovering the beauty of South Moravia. Moravský Krumlov is a pleasant small town, and from here it is possible to explore nature, local culture, nearby historical places, and other interesting destinations. We hope that the stay will be not only about work, but also about friendship, shared experiences, and enjoying the summer together.
